With a 7% Indigenous population and close proximity to Maskwacis, the community of Ponoka understands the need to be a welcoming place for those Indigenous members. It is with this in mind that Ponoka purchased a set of drums to hold monthly drumming circles for anyone who wants to join. This creates a space for citizens to engage in an activity that encourages mental wellness, healthy communication, and community cohesiveness.
