Community Animator Application

Interested in Becoming a Community Animator?

The Rural Mental Health Network (RMHN) is looking for community members across rural Alberta who are passionate about mental health and wellness. Community Animators are volunteer leaders who foster inclusion, amplify local voices, and support grassroots action in their communities.

There are no formal credentials required—just a strong commitment to building relationships, collaborating with others, and nurturing positive change.

Whether you’re deeply involved in your community or just starting your journey, we’d love to learn more about you and why this opportunity matters to you.

Please note: Before committing, ensure that you are able to attend ALL of the Training days. Missing more than 15 minutes of any day may compromise you receiving a Certificate of Completion. Please note, that you may be asked to pause training and move to the next cohort in these circumstances.

Ready to take the next step?

Fill out the form below to start the process of joining the Community Animator training. Once you click submit:

  • The RMHN staff team will review your submission.

  • If your application is a good fit, we’ll invite you to a Meet & Greet conversation to get to know one another better and help determine if the training is right for you.

During this informal conversation, we’ll ask a few reflective questions like:

  • What inspired you to apply for this training?
  • How much time are you realistically able to devote each month to the RMHN?
  • Do you anticipate any challenges attending the full 4 days of online training?
  • Is there anything else you’d like us to know about your availability, interests, or the support you may need to succeed?

These questions help us learn how to best support you and explore how the role fits your life and goals.
