The project aims to establish connections in a rural community with limited opportunities for social interaction and meeting people. To meet this community-identified need, the project will integrate residents into the community-building process by identifying and leveraging local opportunities and assets.
Recognizing the absence of an inclusive community hub for socializing and accessing wellbeing services, this project seeks to create one by building on the existing resources and assets at the Gibbons library. The project will have three main components:
Creating a Free and Accessible Community Space: Develop a welcoming area that encourages connections and community engagement.
Community-Led Activities: Organize events and activities within the space designed to bring people together and foster interaction.
Community Engagement and Pop-Ups: Implement initiatives to support and enhance connections throughout the community.
