Slave Lake is working on building trusting relationships in the community. They have formed the Slave Lake and Area Mental Health Network and are working with a variety of community organizations to create mental health workshops to engage and empower the community. They also planned a Welcome Back Fair which provided a space for community groups, social services, and recreational opportunities to talk about mental health, showcase their services, and recruit volunteers and participants. This offers community members a chance to learn about, and have actively participate in their community.
